With newfound resolve, Haruto is determined to create a world where holy spirits and humans can live together in peace.
RECAP: Haruto and Saki return to their comrades in high spirits, determined to break the mold that the Magi have placed upon them. Meanwhile, L-elf has infiltrated the Dorssian line and surprisingly encounters a cooperative A-drei and X-eins. With that said, a new plan to turn the tides of this war is put into action.
Haruto and Saki rejoin with the rest of the team, including Yamada and Akira, just in time to save them from Dorssian onslaught. Haruto puts on a brave front, to really push his new ideal to make a new home for themselves; not only for his friends, but for himself as well. When he meets up with Shoko and the remaining students, they still fear him. But Shoko must put on a brave face as well, as the Prime Minister of New JIOR. Despite finding out the truth from Pino, Shoko has to do what is right for the safety and sanity of the students that are still left.
On the other side of things, L-elf infiltrates the Dorssian army by disguising himself as a wounded soldier. There, he meets A-drei, who now knows the truth thanks to Saki and X-eins. From there, their old team is somewhat back together to liberate Dorssia and avenge H-neun.
As Haruto and the others act as the distraction to L-elf’s side of things, the battle drags on, as the goal of this plan is to get Akira to Module 77 to hack its computer systems. Dorssia even falls back because the overheating of the Valvraves is an already known weakness. Draw out the battle and you can win against a Valvrave, essentially. As this battle continues, Haruto starts leaking Runes. He hasn’t exactly fed on anyone lately, so it was bound to happen eventually. He begins to lose his most dear childhood memories as Pino cannot help but consume them to power Unit-01. But Haruto keeps fighting, because he knows that nothing will go the way he wants if he doesn’t.
Beside the loss of precious memories, the big upsetter here is that one of the most entertaining characters of the show falls: Yamada Raizou. In an effort to protect Akira as she hacks the Module 77 mainframe from Q-vier’s attack, Yamada leaves Inuzuka-senpai’s shield on her and fights as usual. His lack of attention to defense is what leaves him open to a counter-attack from Q-vier. Otamaya told you so, Yamada!
Fight fire with fire, they say. At first, I wasn’t even thinking about what their plan was going to be, but it all makes sense once the results became clear. I find it slightly strange that Cain didn’t seem to show that he expected L-elf’s intervention. Then again, he might have not expected A-drei and X-eins to assist him. But here it all is, the public is now aware that it is not just the students of Module 77 that are suspect to be Type-7 threats.
Sadly, as much as I hate to say it, best girl won’t win. D:
