New JIOR is on its way to the Moon Neutral Zone. It’s time to elect a representative Prime Minister!
RECAP: With New JIOR heading towards the Neutral Zone of the Moon, it must be decided that a Prime Minister be elected to represent the students. Now that Kyuma and Thunder are part of the pilot team, they decide to try and fully analyze the extent of their bodily changes. As elections move on to its final stages, Shoko is cheered up by Haruto decides to run for office, fully believing that it is something she must do as the daughter of the ‘former’ Prime Minister. Meanwhile, Haruto’s outbursts get worse.
Before the OP sequence, we were able to clarify some facts thanks to Kibukawa-sensei. First, the truth that the entirety of the school is meant for the development of pilot candidates for the VVV Project. Second, the powering function of the Valvraves: Runes. If you got slightly confused by Sensei’s description, here is an easier way to think about it. All matter can be broken down into molecule particles. Similarly, information data can be broken down into ones and zeroes. So, in a way, it is possible to turn matter into data. In the case of the Valvraves, a blood sample is required to boot-up the initial starting sequence for each machine. Lastly, we also clarify that Haruto’s VVVI is special, as it is the only machine with that female AI interface.
Remember last episode’s review where I talked about the 7 sins being relevant to the VVV Project? Well, here’s another big hint. Shoko is a huge glutton. We saw it in episode one in the first scene with the hot dog eating contest. Again, we see it here as she is prudent to mix different foods together. Even if the mixture is a terrible idea, the flavor is apparently amazing. And so, with that, we have hints that Shoko is a possible Pilot Candidate merely because she represents “Gluttony.”
On a side note, it is also nice to see Akira become slightly more social, even if Shoko is the one doing the most talking. Because of Akira’s NEET-habits, she is still the highest candidate to represent “Sloth.”
And the hints don’t stop there, kids. Satomi is, once again, trumped by the eccentric effect of Shoko’s personality. Despite the fact that he had a more reasonable and an actual working campaign outline, he still loses in the Prime Minister race. More and more often, he is losing to Shoko. With that in mind, he is the highest candidate to represent “Envy.”
So we all knew Haruto was going to crack at some point. But where the hell did this come from? In his outburst, he pretty much raped Saki. Not like she actually wouldn’t want it, but I’m sure she would’ve wanted it to be less “forceful.” Anyways, this brings up more questions about the condition the pilots’ bodies are now in. For one, if you noticed, Haruto is the only one going out of control. There are only two theories I can come up with for this:
1) He is taking the burden of all the pilots’ “sins” and must satiate those desires to evolve the power of the Valvrave. If you might remember, the Girl in VVVI has been “hungry,” and Haruto has not exactly been “feeding” lately. In order to feed the Valvrave, we were under the impression that blood was the fuel. However, with this recent event with Saki, there may be more to it all than we can currently observe.
2) Haruto is the only one who is having these outbursts because he is not living by his “sin”: Wrath. He is no longer vengeful; therefore he requires other forms of “Rune” sustenance.
