Summer break is coming to an end. What a better way to close than by seeing a fireworks display?!
RECAP: Many days have passed since the end of the Orienteering trip. As thanks for dog-sitting during the break, Yui invites the Hikigaya siblings out to the fireworks festival. Komachi takes this opportunity to back out and push her brother and Yui into making it a date. There, Hikki and Yui run into Yukinoshita Haruno, where they find out a few things about Yukino that their friend never let on.
As previously speculated, there is more to Yukino than her ice-cold, straightforward demeanor. Based on Haruno’s words, it would seem that her little sister is the shy minority of the family, almost the odd one out. This is completely different from the view we, Hikki, and Yui have of her. The reason for Yukino not making contact since returning from the Orienteering trip is most likely because the sight of the car makes her feel responsible for what has happened to Hikki and Yui at the beginning of the year. Knowing Yukino, she is unsure of how to approach her “friends” with such a subject.
Aside from Yukino’s problems, Yui feels that even if all those unfortunate events didn’t happen, she’d still somehow meet and become friends with the nice guy that is Hikigaya Hachiman. Moreso, she believes that she’d still fall in love with him then. She attempts to confess, but the gods of anime clichés bear down upon her with a phone call from mommy. Oh well! She’s still best girl to me. It isn’t wrong to think in such a way, though. Fate works in mysterious ways, after all.
Hikki’s thoughts on his way of living always sound so right in several ways. He has accepted everything about himself. However, by setting such high expectations of Yukino, subconsciously believing that she is near-perfect, he forgets that she is just like everyone else: human.
Mostly knocked off points on this episode because of characters going off-model. Animation quips like that bug me a lot. >_<;;
Who in their right mind would even think Dog translator apps are legit?
