It’s the ladies’ turn to take center stage as the 5th Septentrion emerges.
RECAP: It’s the 5th day and the next Septentrion, Alioth, has emerged along the ionosphere above Sapporo. Hibiki begins to try and understand Alcor, accepting his existence as a “friend.” Airi and Hinako are designated as the main attack force to fight Alioth because of their attributes to summon the stronger demons, Kama and Shiva, respectively. Although they are able to destroy the core, the main body of the demon falls to Earth, destroying Sapporo.
Hibiki, who is a more humane Shining One than Yamato, is able to accept the “human” side of Alcor. This “friendship” they create will likely be the key to recreating the world back to normal. Alcor seems to have never received a friendly welcome from Yamato, which makes Hibiki’s reaction surprising to him. As they come to understand each other, it may very well affect the response Polaris will give in the end.
This was certainly odd strategy, summoning Kama and Shiva using Airi and Hinako. It worked out perfectly as a way to accurately and quickly destroy the Septentrion before it could to more damage. However, the main shell of a body falling and destroying Sapporo was a huge negative in the eyes of our heroes. In the process, the helpless citizens that evacuated into shelters were still unable to escape death. It is actions/plans like these that are making it hard for the rest of the Summoners able to accept JPs, especially Yamato’s, actions.
Meeting Polaris means the chance to rewrite the state of the world, which is what the higher ups want Yamato to do in favor of those in power. However, Yamato wants a world where the true survivors with talent and worth are left and under his control. Hibiki calls him out on “shouldering the burden of humanity”, but Yamato claims to have never thought of the sacrifices as a burden. Truly, this is likely all because of the way he was raised. He has never felt what it truly meant to “live” as a human… a normal person. Compared to Hibiki, who has felt all sorts of human emotion, this lack of shouldering the burden of responsibility will lead to his downfall.
Aww yeah! Some fanservice!
