L-Elf start to turn the wheels that will push New JIOR into becoming a military powerhouse.

RECAP:  With the existence of the other Valvrave exposed, Haruto desperately denies anyone and everyone to keep away from the pilot seats.  As the students continue their lives, L-Elf confronts Shoko in an effort to initiate negotiations in the direction New JIOR will head.  When negotiations fail, he immediately takes the entire school hostage by setting off all the alarm mechanisms.  He is forced to confront Haruto personally.  But things go wrong when A-Drei steps in.

I can see this leading to bad news bears later down the line.  As spineless as the Student Council President Satomi has been seeming, I bet he won’t just back down so easily (he’s the Prez after all).  It is a good thing Kyuma, Aina, and Saki know why Haruto is so against anyone else getting near the mobile suits.  As much as I want to know who the next pilots are, we can’t just be having new pilots pop up like daisies all the sudden.  I’m really hoping Thunder or Kyuma end up piloting the next one.

With this event, Haruto is given a slight reason to trust in L-Elf.  Although L-Elf likely already predicted the outcome of Haruto bodyswitching to pilot Valvrave, it still showed Haruto that he was willing to risk his life on an uncertainty.  Now that we know L-Elf’s intentions in regards to directing New JIOR, it is still quite hazy as to whether he will be able to gain the trust of the students to follow through with this plan of his.  However, if Haruto actually does become his “right hand,” then things just might go his way to (maybe?) save this “Licht” girl that even forces tears out of a possessed L-Elf.

It’s so very sad that such a sweet girl was killed off so quickly.  She didn’t even do anything to deserve it.  Just the wrong place at the wrong time.  But I should have seen it coming.  There were too many Death Flags during this episode.  In the Ep.8 preview, you can already see what will happen next:  Haruto will be blamed for Aina-chan’s death, especially by Kyuma.  Knowing Haruto, he will not deny that he was unable to protect her.  He is just that kind of guy.  How will this affect the circle of friends now?

If you also noticed, before the Opening credits, we witnessed a scene supposedly 200-years in the future where Saki is still piloting the Green Valvrave.  In this the colors of her mech and pilot suit are Green/Gold, which is different from the current Green/Black.  It can be assumed that a major change will occur later on that will dramatically change not only the mobile suit color, but the abilities as well.   The enemy even mentions that Saki is one of the “Golden Seven,” which tells us that there is one more VVV-unit besides the ones we know of in the New JIOR hangar.  Not only that, we also see a “Coolant System” that reduces the “xxx/100” Heat meter onboard the Valvrave pilot panel.  Post-battle, she also mentions a promise; but with whom?  My guess is likely with Haruto or Shoko.  Is this a sign of a future timeskip, or something to get our hopes up for nothing?

Rating:  4.5/5

A rare species: a girl who cooks horribly, but the food is actually good.
