“Give water to the one who catches the fish.”
RECAP: Because of Ledo’s all-out counter-attack against the pirates, the pirate boss, Empress Lukkage is definitely not happy. Bellows takes a moment to thank Ledo for his assistance, despite the wrong in taking the lives of other humans. It does not take long for Lukkage to make a night raid on the Gargantia. It ends in our victory as Ledo’s influence, while avoiding taking lives this time, changes the tide of the battle.
Unlike the rest of the staff, Fleet Commander Fairlock seems to be partial to giving Ledo a chance, but has to be rather careful about it since he is the leader of the Gargantia. Luckily enough, Bellows and Amy have become closer to Ledo and Chamber, coming to understand his situation and, slowly, his personality.
Bellows has a point, which speaks for all of the people of Gargantia, in saying that we humans should treasure all life, even if they are our enemy. In Ledo’s defense, he was asked for help and he helped in the only way he knows. His actions of absolutely annihilating the pirates were the best possible option to quickly absolve the problem. But if Ledo wants to reside on the Gargantia until he can find a way home, he’ll have to think along the lines of “when in Rome…”
Coinciding with Bellows’ earlier lecture, Ledo agrees to assist the Gargantia by any means possible, even if he is not allowed to kill. While not hard for Chamber’s targeting system, it still takes some time to process the information of scanning for life-forms. At first, it’s pretty funny to think that Ledo plays the part of the floating flashlight, revealing the enemy position. But who would’ve though the pirates would have carrier submarines. I certainly wasn’t expecting it, but after it happened, Lukkage’s claims of night raid superiority made a whole lot more sense.
Lukkage’s Yunoboro isn’t really special, at least if you compare it to Chamber. Her mech is similar to that of the other Yunboro we’ve seen so far; the distinction lies more in its shape. Its body is more akin to her pirate mascot and nickname, the lobster, with claws that hide a machine gun and pulley in each arm. It may be a while before she makes her return, which gives us time to follow Ledo as he gets accustomed to living on Gargantia.
A part of me was thinking, “Team Rocket is blasting off again!”
