Life is tough when you’re stranded on unfamiliar grounds… or waters…
RECAP: As Ledo still stands cornered, through Chamber he is able to conduct communication with the people of the ship. Concerned over his intentions, the higher-ups are unable to decide how to deal with Ledo as a friend or foe. After a long talk with Amy, Ledo and Chamber are able to relay their situation, although it is not an entirely believable story to the adults. Meanwhile, Bellow’s scavenging ship is attacked by pirates. Amy pleas for Ledo to help them, and he does so with the intent that it will garner trust in his favor.
With Ledo still under the watchful eye of the people of the ship, Gargantia, he has no alternative than to try and set up communication and compromise with them. Amy seems to have a good head on her shoulders, despite how air-headed she seems to be, and gets the feeling that Ledo is like a lost child. The adults, responsible for the safety of their fleet and people, cannot be blamed for raising concern over Ledo’s mysterious background. Full trust between both parties may not be easily won after one or two events.
We also start to get some introductions of more side-characters. With two more girls that may end up having the hots for Ledo, this is sure to become interesting.
Because of Beval, Amy becomes more curious to see if the fairy tale of humans living in space may be reality from Ledo. This, more civil, encounter between Ledo and Amy allows a bridge to be formed. This bridge connects Ledo’s world to Amy and Earth. With this connection, Ledo and Chamber are able to assess the predicament they are in further. How long will Ledo have to wait for his emergency beacon to be heard in the vast depths of space? I have a bad feeling this beacon will eventually lead the Hideauze to Earth. But that concern is for a much later time.
Right now, I’m more concerned about the well-being of the current best-looking, red-head of the season, Bellows. It’s a good thing Ledo is eager to find some leverage to get the people of Gargantia to trust him. Nice timing, pirates. However, with Ledo’s intervention on defending Bellows’ crew, the Gargantia fleet just might be in trouble as this may instigate further violent actions from the head pirate fleet. And according to that now-vaporized pirate, their fleet is much larger than Gargantia. Let’s just hope Chamber has enough power in the Machine Caliber to help Gargantia when the time comes.
Whoa there, Amy. You shouldn’t be teaching your little brother about such things.
