There’s always “some” secret organization behind the scenes, huh? This episode we get a lot more information on what in the world is going on.
RECAP: Hibiki and the others are taken into JPs custody, giving only Hibiki the details about the reality of the situation. In return for his cooperation, he requests that Nitta-san and Daichi are released. During the excursion to return Nitta to her home, the shelter they visit is attacked. It is during this attack that Hibiki and the others realize that their power is very well needed in this dire time.
So let’s recap more than the happenings of the episode, the situation. As of right now, the world has six more days to defeat the demons of the Septentrion. JPs has defended our dimension from the supernatural for ages and has known that the coming of the Septentrion would eventually happen. To JPs’ knowledge, the Demon Summoning App on Hibiki & co.’s phones are programmed vastly different from the one they have developed and the only person who could even remotely try to figure it out is MIA. If you’re watching this too, feel free to correct me if I’ve misunderstood something.
Hibiki is such a nice guy. He doesn’t want his best bro and the innocent girl to get involved, so he sets up a deal to let them go. However, I get the feeling that there is a catch to his having the ability to summon Byakko. There is always some sort of underlying reason as to why the main characters of SMT stories are different from the rest of the crew. As just a high-school student, it is the pivotal time in his life to understand what it is he wants and needs to do. With all the unknown factors before him, he cannot ascertain how he really feels about it all.
Luckily (maybe?), a demon attack enables Hibiki to realize what is important “now.” Because of the successful defense of the shelter, Hibiki, Daichi, and Nitta-san, all agree to assist JPs. Their first mission is to find the missing scientist that may be able to give them the answers they seek in regards to their Demon Summoning Apps on their phones. At least they have a direction to go with, instead of aimlessly wandering to find and execute demons.
Regardless of the situation, I don’t know how this girl could feel okay with sleeping on a bed with guys she just met around.
