Can stunning graphics and revamped gameplay really save this MMO from the depths of the lifestream?
Some months ago I posted a video depicting the end of the previous version of Final Fantasy XIV, the 2nd online MMO from Square-Enix that bombed hard. A continuation of that video has been posted to commemorate the dawn of the new Realm Reborn era of the online FF-franchise. I played some of the alpha and can definitely say the game has improved substantially from it’s less-than-mediocre predecessor. However, I am still not sold on the game yet. Especially, if you consider that Square-Enix will still adopt the subscription pay model for MMOs. Players might just want to wait for the international release of Phantasy Star Online 2.
Applications for the beta test cycle are open now for PC and Playstation 3 users.
